BUSHFIRE ATTACK LEVEL (BAL)
BAL Certificates
BAL is a way of measuring the severity of a buildings exposure to ember attack, radiant heat and direct flame contact. The BAL rating is used to determine the requirements for construction to protect the building from bushfire attack. BAL Certificates are issued to identify the BAL of a proposed development in the complying development process.
BUSHFIRE RISK ASSESSMENT
Bushfire Risk Assessment Report
Applications for development on Bushfire Prone Land (BFPL) should include a Bush Fire Assessment Report. A bushfire Assessment report demonstrates that the proposal satisfies the requirements of Planning for Bushfire Protection PBP (2019). Bushfire Engineering NSW provide professional and timely reports consistent with the requirements for PBP.
BUSHFIRE SAFETY AUTHORITY
BFSA
A bush fire safety authority (BFSA) is required from the NSW RFS for residential and rural residential subdivision and SFPP developments on BFPL. A BFSA is critical in ensuring developments are designed and located in a manner that is suitable to protect human life and facilitate appropriate operational firefighting arrangements. Bushfire Engineering NSW provide services for all types of projects from a single residential dwelling to a large subdivision.
